Job Overview: The Visual Merchandise Manager (VMM) inspires and guides the store team to deliver environments filled with creative energy and aspirational yet approachable style. The VMM role models a strong creative sense of fashion leadership balanced with an understanding of metric driven commerce. The VMM drives front of house planning in store to ensure day in/day out merchandise presentation techniques and promotional calendar are executed and consistent with corporate visual merchandising. The VMM leads their team to deliver a customer centric fashion leadership vision through our merchandise strategies, fashion trends, prototypes, and alignment to omni-marketing campaigns. The VMM is responsible for coaching, training and developing the visual and merchandising teams. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit, develop and retain an expert team of Visual/Merchandising professionals.
- Empower visual and merchandising team to ensure aligned execution of all merchandise strategies, standards presentations, and marketing campaigns.
- Develop a team that understands their contribution to customer service through presentation techniques, store appearance and fashion leadership.
- Cultivate a strong business partnership with store leadership and trade area partners; always being a visible and responsive leader throughout the store.
- Use the Branch Comp, focus business reports and promotional calendar to set priorities and drive the business.
- Partner with in-store leadership to ensure compliance to Logistics, workload planning, markdown execution, work completion reports, Return to Vendor (RTV) and CDT completion.
- Manage elements of profitability: shortage, productivity, and adherence to audit standards as applicable to visual and merchandising operations.
- Educates, trains, and conducts visual merchandise standards seminars to store team and trade area when needed.
- Acts as liaison between central and stores to align on marketing campaigns, creating an exciting in store experience through innovative and animated techniques of visual presentation, lifestyle merchandising concepts and store business driving events.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
- 3-5 years related experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
- Proficient in In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, MAC, PC, Excel, Word and PowerPoint presentations.
- Ability to think creatively and understand scale and composition in visual techniques.
- Resource, develop and design through market contacts.
- Lead and collaborate with merchants, fashion office and store teams.
- Collaborate cross functionally to achieve brand vision through in-store visuals.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires periods of walking, standing, hearing, talking, reaching with extended arms, crouching and climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and other office equipment
- Requires close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
