We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes - all while providing platinum customer support to our clients.

Our Team: The Data Artificial Intelligence group is focused on bringing a comprehensive strategic vision to incorporating AI within the department. We see our responsibilities as driving both the prioritization and implementation of AI methods within the Data Department, as well as standardizing and promoting Data as a partner in the development of AI‑enhanced products throughout the firm through domain expertise.

What’s the Role? As a Team Leader of the Document Research team, you will be pivotal in the development of our evaluation and annotation programmes for our AI applications & experiences within the document research space. The responsibilities will include representing Data in the development of these AI products, alongside CTO, Engineering and Product, contributing domain expertise in the generation of evaluation and annotation programs. Your work will touch a multitude of domains across different groups and inform a variety of expert research systems powered by generative AI.

The ideal candidate is a technically grounded, systems‑oriented leader who understands how annotated data shapes AI model behavior and evaluation outcomes. You are comfortable operating at scale while exercising deep technical judgment, enforcing standards, interpreting ambiguity, and using metrics to detect drift, diagnose failure modes, and continuously improve data quality.

We’ll Trust You To:

  • Establish and maintain close partnerships with Engineering, CTO and Product counterparts and contribute to the priorities and implementation roadmaps for client facing AI applications & experiences.
  • Recruit, mentor and develop a team of data management professionals who are experts in evaluation frameworks, annotations management, and project management while promoting a culture of cross team collaboration.
  • Balance operational stability and adoption of new technologies during implementation, while challenging partners’ past assumptions.
  • Identify and implement improvements to schemas, workflows, and operational processes.
  • Participate and contribute to technical discussions and provide insights on design, code reviews, and other relevant areas as required by the team.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners on large‑scale programs (technical and operational) with enterprise‑wide influence through effective data governance, cross‑team organization, and stakeholder engagement.

You’ll Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience leading operational or program‑focused teams.
  • Demonstrated technical judgment in designing or operating annotation systems that support machine learning training, evaluation, or model assessment.
  • Good understanding of annotation systems and quality methodologies, including calibration, agreement modeling, and drift detection.
  • Demonstrable experience running large‑scale annotation or data operations with vendor and SME workforces.
  • Ability to enforce centrally defined standards while maintaining consistency at scale.
  • Excellent multi‑functional leadership skills and comfort operating in ambiguity‑rich environments.
  • Strong program leadership capability, with a focus on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.

We’d Love to See:

  • Exposure to the Bloomberg Terminal and/or Enterprise Data products.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of financial markets, and how Bloomberg products deliver value to our users.
  • Experience with the Data tech stack and HiTL platform (e.g. Gigwork, Autolab, BBDS, etc.).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications are desirable.

If indicated, please note that years of experience are a guide; we will consider applications from all candidates who can demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.
