We utilize financial modeling, industry expertise, data management, and technical skills to derive critical metrics and insights, continuously improving our financial analysis and modeling products based on market understanding and client needs.
The Company Financials Workflow team seeks a Data Engineer with deep subject matter expertise and advanced technical skills to manage comprehensive financial data—acquiring, validating, storing, protecting, and modeling it for accessibility across Bloomberg platforms. You will develop workflow strategies, deliver high-quality user and technical workflows, and enhance automation pipelines. Collaboration with Product Data & Technology teams, including Product Managers and Engineers, is essential to meet internal and external client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze processes proactively to identify workflow opportunities and ensure dataset suitability
- Gather feedback from users including clients, vendors, and global teams
- Collaborate with Business/Data Product Managers and Engineering teams to strategize and plan roadmaps
- Oversee development lifecycle—design, optimize, test workflow solutions with subject matter experts
- Implement innovative solutions using Bloomberg's proprietary or open-source tech stack
- Maintain workflow knowledge and communicate progress to stakeholders worldwide
- Establish monitoring systems for workflow governance, incident management, and business continuity
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in the financial/fintech industry, including exchanges, market data providers, or financial tech firms
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages like Python in development or production environments
- Experience with high-volume, low-latency ETL pipelines and data lifecycle management
- Familiarity with databases, schemas, data modeling, and formats such as PDF, HTML, XBRL, JSON, CSV
- Strong project management, prioritization skills, and a customer-focused approach
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and cross-departmental working skills
Preferred:
- Advanced degree or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- Experience with Bloomberg products, Terminal, and Data Workflows
- Knowledge of statistical methods, Machine Learning, AI, and NLP in business contexts
