Bloomberg Opinion is seeking a Vertical Video Producer and Editor based in London to join our global team of columnists and editors. This person will report to the video team based in New York — undertaking the full editorial process from pitching and scripting to directing shoots and handling post‑production work. They will be in daily communication with our EMEA editors and columnists to collaborate on coverage needs.
The ideal candidate brings sharp news judgment, strong visual instincts, standout ideas for social video hooks, and enthusiasm for what’s happening on social platforms. They’ll also contribute as a live stream producer, coordinating audio and video webinars. This is a hybrid role requiring flexibility for video shoots in and around Bloomberg’s London bureau. A portfolio/showreel is requested in your application and an editing task will be required.
We’ll Trust You To
- Collaborate closely with the global Opinion video team in New York and Hong Kong on pitches, edits and day‑to‑day content planning.
- Produce short‑form videos that combine your mastery of video editing and shooting with our columnists’ expertise to break through to our core Bloomberg audience, and, crucially, new audiences on social platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
- Develop innovative ways of turning commentary into digestible, inviting content for a social media audience – through explainers, voiceovers, and data.
- Collaborate with EMEA columnists and editors on best social video practices.
- Produce engaging live streams with columnists from an online broadcasting studio.
- Create content targeted for social and digital platforms including video and graphics editing, as well as some written content.
You’ll Need To Have
- At least 2 years of video producing experience in news media.
- At least 2 years of experience using mobile editing software like CapCut.
- Experience in using the Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere and After Effects, and other graphics software including Canva.
- A track record of shooting on mirrorless/DSLR cameras.
- Experience in producing live webinars using software like StreamYard and Riverside to broadcast to Twitter, TikTok and YouTube.
