Our Team:

Sovereign debt is the cornerstone of global finance and the largest and most liquid asset class in fixed income. We work closely with Treasuries and Central Banks around the world to onboard their debt securities on Bloomberg in a timely manner, ensuring excellent data quality. Information about the issuance of bonds by governments is time-sensitive and often market-moving, and something a lot of our clients track carefully. By using technology, domain expertise, and relationships with Issuers we aim to be the best data and analytics platform in the market.

What’s the role?

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven Team Leader to support coverage of EMEA sovereign debt data. You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of data management professionals who deliver automated solutions for our clients. You will set the team’s technical strategy to complement the vision for the domain and deliver high quality data leveraging strong technical, project management and leadership skills. In doing so, you’ll build a close partnership with Engineering, Product, Enterprise, and other various partners.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of domain experts and data management professionals who are experts in their field through processing time-sensitive, high-quality financial data, data analysis, and project management.
  • Lead large-scale programs (technical and operational) with enterprise-wide influence through effective data governance, cross-team organization, dependency, risk and issue management, and leadership engagement.
  • Identify and implement improvements to schemas, workflows, and operational processes.
  • Ensure consistency and quality while delivering excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to evolve the role, workflow, and operating procedures to ensure consistency in data quality and timeliness.
  • Solid grasp of technologies (python, UNIX, GitHub, data visualization tools).
  • Manage and mentor team on large and sophisticated data projects and business initiatives.
  • Participate in technical discussions and provide insights on system designs, code reviews and other relevant areas.

You’ll need to have:

  • 3+ years of experience with proven leadership experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in data management related role such as data quality, data modeling and/or data engineering.
  • Expert-level knowledge of data processing paradigms and associated tools and technologies.
  • Experience driving strategies, managing sophisticated projects, and leadership ability in change management or influencing others.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, allowing you to clearly communicate business needs and to advocate on behalf of your team.
  • Ability to build influential relationships with multiple internal and external clients and partners.
  • Creative and flexible approach to problem solving, aided by strong data analysis skills.
  • Ability to set strategy and manage the product’s technology development roadmap.

We’d love to see:

  • Experience in semantic technologies, or an understanding of their structures.
  • Understanding of data governance and data management standard processes.
  • Solid understanding of the multifaceted impact of third-party data.
  • Exposure to the Bloomberg Terminal and/or Enterprise data products.
