Bloomberg News is looking for a dynamic, gutsy and ambitious journalist to join our investigations team. This position will work closely with top class reporters and editors to produce explosive stories and series with a focus on international companies and businesspeople. Experience with investigative reporting is required, as is impeccable source work, a collaborative approach and a hunger to produce the best journalism of your career. The ideal candidate will be based anywhere in Europe, Africa or the Middle East.

We’ll Trust You To:

  • Conceive and execute highly impactful investigative stories and projects.
  • Do everything in your power to prove key facts, going far beyond 'he said, she said.'
  • Coax reluctant sources to talk and share documents.
  • Gather voluminous records, then spend hours forensically combing them.
  • Develop strong working relationships with other dazzling reporters all over the newsroom.
  • Dive into other reporters' projects (when asked) and help them break through walls.
  • Write seamless narratives as well as findings-filled bombshells.
  • Propose investigative stories that link to the most important news and issues of the day.

You’ll Need To Have:

  • Real experience in investigative journalism, with story clips demonstrating a high level of ambition and ownership.
  • Proven track record of executing complex, multi-part investigative projects.
  • Ability to write clearly about complicated topics.
  • A commitment to the highest standards of journalism ethics.
  • Ability to leverage Bloomberg's exclusive array of financial and economic data to produce stories others cannot.
  • Ability to bulletproof your stories with zeal and vigor; vet every single word with the utmost care with our editors and lawyers.
