We offer an array of services to clients interested in custom index development, investable index products designed to offer access to systematic strategies, index administration and calculation agent services. Bloomberg indices are driven by the same trusted reference data, pricing and analytical calculations that are leveraged throughout the investment process.
We are seeking an Index Sales Specialist to grow Bloomberg’s index franchise across Financial Institutions in Europe. You will work with sell-side firms, exchanges, brokers, dealers, insurers and other institutions that create, distribute or use index-linked products.
We welcome candidates from index sales as well as sales, structuring, product or business development roles within banks, brokers, dealers or exchanges. Relevant experience may include structured products, quantitative investment solutions (QIS), derivatives or other rules-based products. Prior direct index sales experience is valuable, but it is not essential.
You will build senior client relationships, identify commercial opportunities and manage engagements from initial discovery through solution development, negotiation and close. You will also bring client and market insight into Bloomberg’s product strategy and positioning.
We’ll trust you to:
- Drive New Business: Identify, qualify and convert opportunities to expand Bloomberg Indices’ footprint across Financial Institutions in Europe.
- Develop the Financial Institutions Franchise: Build a strong pipeline across sell-side firms, exchanges, brokers, dealers and other relevant financial institutions, with a focus on scalable and repeatable commercial opportunities.
- Build Strategic Client Relationships: Develop trusted relationships with existing clients and prospects, engaging senior decision makers across Financial Institutions.
- Lead Consultative Sales Conversations: Understand how clients create, distribute and use index-linked products, and connect those needs to Bloomberg’s standard, custom and systematic index capabilities.
- Own the Commercial Lifecycle: Manage opportunities from initial engagement and presentations through pricing, negotiation and deal closure.
- Bring Market Insight to Product: Translate client feedback, market trends and competitive intelligence into actionable input for Bloomberg’s Product teams.
- Collaborate Across Bloomberg: Partner closely with Product Management, Client Service, Marketing, Legal and broader Sales teams to deliver coordinated solutions and an excellent client experience.
- Represent Bloomberg Indices in the Market: Engage clients across Europe through meetings, industry events and strategic outreach, helping strengthen Bloomberg’s position in the index ecosystem.
You’ll need to have:
- Relevant Financial Markets Experience: At least 5 years of experience in financial markets, financial products, index solutions or a related sales, product, structuring or business development role.
- Relevant Industry Experience: Experience at an index provider, bank, broker, dealer, exchange or similar institution, or in a role selling to these clients. We welcome candidates from sales, structuring, product, trading and business development.
- Commercial Mindset: Proven ability to identify opportunities, understand client needs and build lasting relationships.
- Self-Motivated and Proactive: You take initiative, are intellectually curious and follow through with ownership.
- Strong Communication Skills: You can explain ideas clearly, engage clients confidently and adapt to different audiences.
- Teamwork: You collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
- European Client Coverage: Willingness to travel and engage with clients across Europe.
- Languages: Working proficiency in an additional European language would be a plus.
