Bloomberg offers a broad and evolving suite of industry-flagship and bespoke indices for benchmarking, asset allocation, customization and product creation leveraging the unparalleled power of Bloomberg data and research. Indices are available across multiple asset classes including Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Currency, Interest Rates, Multi-Asset Strategies, and Alternatives as well as Thematic, Climate and ESG with full integration with the Bloomberg terminal.
What's the Role? The BISL Fixed Income Index Production Team manages the daily production responsibilities needed for all Bloomberg Fixed Income Indices. The primary goal of the team is to generate timely and accurate index data used by various clients to manage their passive and active fixed income assets. Clients include Asset Managers, Insurance Companies, Broker Dealers, Pension Funds, Endowments, etc. Index Production Analysts play a critical role in maintaining Bloomberg's position as a world-class global index provider. They are expected to leverage their knowledge in operations, finance, and technology to manage the daily calculation, quality control and dissemination of the index products and support the stability and growth of the index business.
We will trust you to:
- Manage standard and complex corporate actions, evaluate pricing and index inputs, assess index outputs, and the validation of final index production.
- Maintain the integrity of indices in accordance with Bloomberg's methodologies, ensuring accurate application of index rules, quality control and data remediation.
- Play a crucial role in further developing Bloomberg's Fixed Income Index offering and platform, partnering with stakeholders and clients and drawing upon deep subject matter expertise.
- Demonstrate strong domain knowledge, specifically in EMEA fixed income markets, and the ability to coordinate with regional teams in the delivery of global products and manage escalations.
- Work with both our clients and internal partners in response to index data related queries.
- Work closely with colleagues in Engineering to develop workflows, quality assurance processes and product improvements.
- Risk management, controls, the regulatory environment, and various aspects of reporting will also be critical areas of focus.
You will need to have:
- 3+ years of Fixed Income experience, either in relation to data, pricing or its application in indices/portfolios.
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science and/or Finance.
- Strong Data and quantitative analysis skills with knowledge in Python and SQL.
- Strong operational and process management/improvement skills.
- Self-motivation, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn complex business and technology processes and actively contribute to their evolution.
- Ability to interact and effectively connect with our clients.
- Ability to analyse a problem on the fly, in real time, with limited information, and determine a valid and helpful course of action.
