Specialist Sales Solutions sits at the forefront of some of the most exciting new initiatives Bloomberg is undertaking. The team supports the growth of Bloomberg’s corporate business and leads the business strategy and development of our Credit Risk Insurance solution. The insurance industry is undergoing significant change. Insurers, brokers and corporate risk managers are increasingly looking to data, analytics and technology to improve risk identification, underwriting, pricing, distribution and portfolio management.
We'll trust you to:
- Manage client relationships and help evolve the Credit Risk Insurance solution in partnership with our insurance brokerage partner.
- Utilize your knowledge and experience of the Insurance Industry to identify where Bloomberg data, analytics and technology can add value across their workflows.
- Understand how insurance market participants assess and manage credit and counterparty risk, including the data, reporting, analytics and intelligence required to support underwriting, risk selection, pricing, portfolio monitoring and client engagement.
- Stay close to industry trends affecting the insurance market, including the digitisation of insurance distribution, increasing use of alternative data and analytics, evolving risk-transfer structures, changing capacity and pricing dynamics, and developments in credit and geopolitical risk.
- Act in an advisory capacity to clients and prospective clients, understanding the commercial and workflow challenges they face and demonstrating how Bloomberg products and the Credit Risk Insurance solution can help solve problems, improve decision-making and optimise workflows.
- Partner with our Insurance Broker to influence the direction of the Insurance System through market insight, thought leadership and innovative ideas, while establishing strong relationships between Bloomberg decision-makers, our clients and our partner.
- Translate feedback from insurers, brokers, corporate clients and other market participants into actionable product requirements and commercial opportunities.
- Identify opportunities beyond the existing Credit Risk Insurance proposition by understanding the broader data, analytics, reporting and workflow needs of the insurance industry and assessing potential adjacent product verticals.
- Develop and establish your own roadmap of commercial and product initiatives based on your understanding of insurance markets, tools and workflows, ensuring alignment with product, sales and company goals.
- Maintain regular check-in points with your Manager and self-report successes, challenges and learnings from these strategies.
- Build Bloomberg’s presence and credibility within the insurance community by developing relationships with key industry participants and representing Bloomberg at relevant client meetings, market events and industry forums.
- Actively participate in new projects that drive departmental and firm-wide initiatives and goals.
- Seek additional ways to make an impact, including mentoring colleagues, contributing to training and running events for insurance market participants.
You'll need to have:
- Knowledge of credit insurance, specialty insurance including an understanding of the relationships between brokers, underwriters and corporate insureds.
- Demonstrated experience developing trusted relationships with senior market participants and using those relationships to identify commercial opportunities.
- Awareness of the technology trends reshaping insurance, including digital placement, workflow automation, data-driven underwriting, alternative data and the application of AI and advanced analytics.
- The business insight required to use your knowledge of clients, markets and Bloomberg to exercise good judgement, make timely decisions and tangibly contribute to the commercial success of the business.
- A proactive approach and the ability to collaborate within and across departments on both departmental and company-wide initiatives in a non-hierarchical structure without corporate titles.
- The ability to identify client problems, understand complex workflows and communicate ideas and solutions in a simple, concise and commercially relevant way.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to explore, interrogate and validate commercial and product ideas across different datasets.
- A strong understanding of workflows and a methodical approach to adapting and developing products that solve real client problems.
- A willingness to travel across Europe as required in order to provide clients with a premier service.
