Bloomberg Television is seeking a freelance Desk Producer to join the EMEA broadcast news desk from our European headquarters in London. This is a fast-paced, news-driven role suited for a journalist who thrives on tight deadlines, collaboration, and has sharp editorial judgment.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating live hits, turning newsworthy sound from interviews and events, and ensuring timely and compelling content delivery across Bloomberg’s TV, Radio and multimedia platforms. You’ll work hand-in-hand with field crews, producers, and reporters to respond to breaking news, business developments, and major global events.
You’ll bring a deep interest in business, economics and geopolitics, with the ability to spot what matters—and act quickly. You’ll also be someone who enjoys building strong working relationships across teams, and who thrives balancing multiple priorities under pressure.
We\’ll trust you to:
- Coordinate daily newsgathering efforts, liaising with bureaus, field crews, and reporters to line up live hits and coordinating rolling coverage
- Cut newsworthy soundbites and segments from live interviews, press conferences, panels and events, quickly and with editorial accuracy
- Make editorial decisions in real time, helping shape our on-air narrative and content
- Collaborate closely with Bloomberg’s producers, anchors, correspondents, and the wider editorial team to prioritize the right coverage
- Maintain a strong awareness of market-moving news and political and economic developments across the EMEA region
You’ll need to have:
- 3–5+ years of experience in broadcast journalism, news desk production, or digital video production
- Excellent editorial judgment with a track record of responding effectively to breaking news
- A collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility to work early shifts as needed
- A solid grasp of European business, politics, and financial markets
- Experience using video editing systems to cut and turn around fast-moving content is a bonus
