What\’s in it for you:
The Associate Analyst on the team will focus significantly on supporting the Biotech & Pharma franchises in Europe with financial modeling, generating insights, writing, and conducting investment research. The analysis will be based on company financial data, industry leading data, Bloomberg\’s data sets, financial models as well as issuer calls and announcements.
We\’ll trust you to:
- Actively contribute to the team’s daily research activities (i.e. data aggregation, financial modeling, written research, idea generation)
- Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting industries
- Manage significant data analysis and modeling responsibilities; synthesize the results, draw conclusions and develop concise narratives that communicate the story behind the data
- Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments throughout Bloomberg as well as external company, industry and data professionals; participate in department-wide special projects
- Work with other data and core business groups to help develop and improve content and functionality across the terminal
- Maintain earnings models motivated by live Bloomberg data
You need to have:
- Graduated with a Bachelor\’s degree, preferably with a focus or concentration in Finance or related degree
- At least two years of financial market research or Biotech & Pharma industry specific subject matter experience, with demonstrable research and analytical skills
- A deep understanding of advanced concepts, practices and procedures of finance/accounting
- Solid experience performing quantitative financial analysis, with knowledge of companies, industries, financial statement analysis & modeling
- The ability to spot anomalies in financial data, think critically about what the data is telling you and identify when something doesn\’t align or makes sense
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High level of curiosity and attention to detail
- Strong organization skills and capable of prioritising multiple projects; an ability to meet deadlines, logically tackle problems and set priorities
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- A commitment to improving and developing products
We\’d love to see:
- MBA degree, and/or graduate educational experience
- Experience using Python and/or visualization tools (i.e Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense)
- Ability to use generative AI or machine learning platforms
