The Team:
The Data Strategy & Transformation team focuses on technical leadership, data management best practices and mentorship across the Securities group covering Fixed Income, Sanctions, Regulation, Mortgages, Foreign Exchange (FX), Listed Derivatives and Corporate Actions data products.
As you will work with different Securities teams solving problems and devising solutions for data quality challenges. With that, you would be encouraged to navigate through unknowns and ambiguity while driving decisions and solutions.
What’s the role?
We are looking for a Senior Data Management Professional who can combine financial asset class subject matter expertise and advanced data management skills to help develop data-driven strategies around Flow, Exotic Derivatives/Structured Notes and Private Credit.
You will help reinvent their data models and data quality specifications to deliver best-in-class workflows that eventually help shape and build fit-for-purpose Data products.
You will review current workflows in order to identify and advocate opportunities to improve the quality of data, achieved by designing process improvements or creation or infrastructure enhancements. You will also be required to provide guidance on how to implement processes to measure, monitor and report on our data quality.
Coupled with good communication and stakeholder management skills, you will be working very closely with partners across Product, Data and Technology departments including Product Managers, Engineering teams as well as Risk, Enterprise Product and Cross-functional teams to meet the needs of our external and internal clients.
We’ll trust you to:
- Collaborate with Data Product Owners to build project plans which incorporate Product, Enterprise and Risk objectives and taking into account both buy and sell side clients
- Advise on a comprehensive and outcome driven data strategy in line with market trends
- Help develop interconnected data models that enable analysis across datasets by collaborating on building the semantic data model and taxonomies, aligning with other teams and partnering with DML
- Collaborate with Data teams, Product, Data Management Lab (DML), and Engineering counterparts to help craft data quality strategy, execution roadmap, define return on investment and technical solutions
- Monitor, analyze, and collaborate on regulatory developments while ensuring that the business/product is meeting its regulatory obligations
- Understand and find opportunities for business expansion/new product onboarding and additional items to be included in the business planning
- Collaborate with issuers, exchanges, internal teams to understand ingestions methods, validation rules and downstream data usage patterns (e.g.: Enterprise Bulk Data Products; BPIPE; TOMS; AIM; DLIB etc)
You’ll need to have:
- 4+ years of experience in the financial services industry, including middle or back office; risk management consultancy, market data providers or financial technology institutions
- Knowledge of the characteristics that define various Flow and Exotic Derivatives, Private Markets (Private Credit; Private Equity etc.) and familiarity with the issuance & lifecycle of those products
- Proven experience in data management concepts such as data quality, data modeling, or data governance
- Proficiency in being comfortable discussing technical concepts and experience evaluating trade-offs in design with Engineering
- Extensive experience in communicating and coordinating with internal and external partners while leading large-scale projects
- Some experience or familiarity with system architecture – tracking the flow of data through a large and heterogeneous system
- Strong understanding of how Quality is measured in every stage of a data management cycle, incorporating financial product cycle: from pricing, to risk, bookings, to settlement, to regulations
- Practical experience or knowledge of data validation and reconciliation processes of Private Markets and/or Exotic Derivatives data as well as proven track record of managing data lifecycle
We’d love to see:
- Experience designing optimal database structures, schemas, modeling, as well as structured and unstructured formats (PDF, HTML, XBRL, JSON, CSV etc.)
- Experience working with NoSQL databases
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize and adapt to tasks accordingly with a customer focused mentality
- Masters, DAMA CDMP or DCAM certifications
