Description & Requirements Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from real-time coverage through to in-depth enterprise. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It\'s what keeps us inventing and re‑inventing, all the time.
We are seeking an experienced digital editor to help shape and showcase the biggest stories of the day for our growing online audience in EMEA. You will be expected to perform a variety of roles: curate homepages, write sharp headlines, craft social and SEO language, and send mobile push alerts. The successful candidate will have strong news judgment, understand evolving digital consumption habits as well as coverage areas that matter to a business and finance audience, especially our subscribers. You will need to have a record of collaborating with reporters and editors across a global newsroom.
We’re looking for a self‑starter excited about breaking news and presenting longer‑form pieces in clear and creative ways. This person should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment that often requires making split‑second decisions, and be willing to pitch in across roles.
We’ll trust you to: Manage eight editions of homepages with a team of global curators to highlight the biggest news of the day
Curate content to show off our best stories in all formats, including newsletters, podcasts and videos
Create distribution plans for big moments and breaking news in collaboration with the EMEA News Desk
Share key metrics across the newsroom globally
Write and brainstorm web‑friendly headlines with the newsroom
Use data to spot coverage opportunities and optimise content for SEO
Send mobile push alerts across regions as news breaks to engage with subscribers
Leverage our largest traffic sources to grow engagement across platforms
You’ll need to have: A minimum of 6+ years of experience covering business journalism, financial markets or global news, preferably in a digital newsroom environment
Excellent news judgment and attention to detail
Strong headline writing skills for various platforms
A willingness to adapt to changing news habits and audience behavior in a post‑social media world
A collaborative spirit and a commitment to innovate in how we reach subscribers through the site, app and newsletters
Prior experience with web, social publishing and/or analytics tools
