We're a London-based principal contractor specialising in complex retrofit and refurbishment, working across commercial, residential, heritage, education and public sector projects from Β£50k to Β£10m. We take a flexible, modern approach to delivery - technology-enabled, programme-first, and built around agile, senior-led teams.
We're hiring a Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of assigned projects, working under our Commercial Manager, James Rundle. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for someone who wants to do the job properly - accurate valuations, well-run subcontractor accounts, clear reporting, and strong relationships on both sides of the table.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing the commercial side of allocated projects from contract award through to final account
- Preparing interim valuations, cost/value reconciliations and cash flow forecasts
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages, accounts and final settlements
- Maintaining variation logs and negotiating with client-side QS where needed
- Producing accurate cost reports and forecasts for review with the Senior QS
- Flagging risks early and working closely with PMs, Site Managers and the Pre-Construction team
What we're looking for:
- A QS with main contractor experience, ideally in refurbishment or retrofit
- Solid grasp of JCT contracts, valuations, variations and final accounts
- Confident with subcontractor procurement and account management
- Organised, reliable, and a proactive communicator
- Looking to grow - there's a clear progression path to Senior QS, and we'll back it
Why Bloom:
We're growing, we take what we do seriously, and we're building a business where good people can do their best work. You'll join a senior-led team with a strong pipeline, real autonomy on your projects, and a Commercial Manager who'll back and develop you.
