Blood Cancer UK is looking for a Direct Marketing Manager to deliver innovative, insight-led direct marketing campaigns that grow supporter engagement and maximize income. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing team and help shape digital fundraising products and campaigns that make a real difference to people affected by blood cancer.
Based in London with hybrid working options (2-4 days per month in the office may increase dependent on business needs) this role offers hands-on campaign delivery, opportunities to develop new fundraising products, and the chance to contribute to strategic digital acquisition. Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage direct marketing campaigns: Plan, develop and deliver multi-channel direct marketing campaigns (primarily digital) to acquire and retain supporters, ensuring activity meets income and ROI targets and strengthens brand engagement.
- Develop new fundraising products: Design and test new products and propositions using insight-led and innovative approaches to diversify income streams and attract new audiences.
- Drive strategic planning and financial performance: Own budget management, forecasting and reporting for allocated campaigns and products, ensuring plans are financially robust and support the wider Mass Marketing strategy.
- Integrate digital fundraising across campaigns: Collaborate with the Digital Marketing team to embed digital fundraising across all campaigns, ensuring cohesive supporter journeys and consistent messaging.
- Deliver insight and performance reporting: Produce, analyse and circulate performance reports for all Direct Marketing activities to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to team and organisational learning: Share knowledge and expertise across the Mass Marketing team and wider organisation to foster innovation and best practice in digital acquisition and supporter engagement.
- Uphold organisational values and collaborative working: Champion Blood Cancer UK's mission and values by working inclusively and collaboratively with internal teams, agencies and external partners to achieve shared outcomes.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of direct marketing principles, particularly digital acquisition across platforms such as Meta and Google PPC. Knowledge of data-driven fundraising and audience insight approaches. Awareness of emerging digital fundraising trends and their application within the charity sector.
- Skills: Excellent campaign planning and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines. Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and translate into actionable insight. Confident communicator, able to influence colleagues and agencies to achieve agreed objectives.
- Experience: Proven experience in delivering successful direct marketing campaigns, ideally with a strong digital focus. Experience developing and launching new fundraising or commercial products.
