Blocktech MEP are looking on behalf of their client for a Welders Mate for a permanent position working on District heating projects across the UK. The ideal candidate will have previous construction site experience and be looking to forge a career. This is a great opportunity to join a company and learn a trade both on the job and with training provided. Many of the previous welders working for this client have come through the system in this way. This role will be supporting the senior welder working alongside a ‘Pre-insulated Pipe Installer’ on construction sites all around the UK installing buried pre-insulated steel and plastic pipes. You will be required to lodge away from home 90% of the time during a working week. Projects can last anywhere between a few days and a year depending on the size and nature of the scheme however an average project duration is approximately 1 month. Necessary requirements and attributes for the successful candidate * Adhere to the company health, safety and environmental procedures. * Find a problem or issue as a challenge to overcome and learn * Looking to build a career and grow with a Company not just looking for a Job. * Able to represent and be an ambassador for the Company by maintaining good client and customer relationships by taking pride and having a good work ethic. Our client are specialist suppliers and installers of pre-insulated heating and cooling distribution pipes. They do all manner of project types, including district heating, community heating, and combined heat and power (CHP) projects, anything from large scale CHP biomass heating or a short run across School playground. Previous projects include Airports, Chemical Process, Hospitals, Hotels, MOD, and Local authority district heating As you are required to travel across the UK hotels will be paid, and a fair food allowance granted whilst over a certain distance from your base location
