We're working with a leading European private bank that's investing heavily in modernising its equity trading systems. We're looking for a Trading System Engineer / Architect to play a central role in that transformation.
This is a greenfield build of a new electronic execution platform that will support high-volume global equity trading. It's a hands-on architecture role focused on building reliable, high-performance systems that can handle scale and operate with minimal downtime.
What you'll be working on:
- Building a new low-latency trading system from scratch
- Designing pre- and post-trade risk engines, market data and reference data infrastructure, and trading gateways
- Ensuring the platform delivers 24/5 uptime and can scale dynamically during major market events
- Collaborating with traders, engineers, and stakeholders across multiple desks
- Deploying onto a bare-metal Kubernetes infrastructure (not cloud-based)
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally with Java and real-time trading systems
- Strong background in low-latency architecture, microservices, and performance tuning
- Experience with OMS or EMS platforms, and integrating market/reference data systems
- Proficiency with containerisation and Kubernetes; bonus if you've used Go or Rust
- Someone collaborative, technically sharp, and excited about building clean systems that scale
