About the role

This is a mission‑critical Programme Manager position within a London‑based consulting and strategic projects team. The role focuses on end‑to‑end delivery of high‑impact, multi‑workstream programmes across areas such as software rollouts, new capabilities, M & A integration, new market launches, and operational centre set‑up.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex, multi-workstream programmes from initiation through to implementation and transition.
  • Define and manage programme scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate and align multiple project teams and stakeholders across business and technology.
  • Oversee delivery of programmes including software implementations, new capability launches, M & A integration projects, and new market or operational centre launches.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance, reporting, and decision-making structures.
  • Provide clear, concise status updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and changes, ensuring appropriate mitigation and escalation.
  • Drive benefits realisation and ensure programmes deliver agreed business outcomes.

Required skills and experience

  • Proven experience as a Programme Manager leading complex, multi-workstream programmes in a consulting, professional services, or similar environment.
  • Strong track record of end-to-end delivery of technology-enabled and business change programmes (e.g. software rollouts, M & A, new market launches).
  • Demonstrable experience working with both Agile and Waterfall (and hybrid) delivery approaches, and selecting or blending methodologies appropriately for each programme.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including working with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing programme budgets and business cases.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels, with strong planning, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner (or similar programme/project management qualification such as MSP, PMP, or recognised Agile certifications) is essential.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
