I’m working with a high‑growth FinTech in London that’s building out their data function to support smarter, data‑driven lending decisions. They’ve been scaling quickly and are now looking for someone to work closely with the C Suite to model and price loans in a more predictive, evidence‑based way.
You’ll be joining a small but sharp team with a BI Analyst and a wider tech group (frontend, backend, and product). This is a rare chance to join a company with a blank slate for Data and be the person that shapes the strategy and research the models you think are best fit.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of the data that underpins lending and pricing decisions.
- Build and refine the underwriting scorecard, working out the right weightings and using expert judgement backed by data.
- Develop predictive and analytical models to identify the leading indicators of default and credit performance.
- Analyse historic customer data and uncover the signals that predict repayment behaviour.
- Back test models, iterate, and automate model building over time.
- Visualise and communicate insights clearly to the executive team.
What They’re Looking For
- Strong statistical and mathematical background.
- Confident sourcing, cleaning, and manipulating data independently (Python, SQL, BigQuery).
- Excellent with Power BI or similar for dashboarding and storytelling.
- Experience building predictive models from scratch.
- Someone curious, analytical, and genuinely passionate about digging into data to solve business problems.
- STEM degree.
