Job Summary

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational performance across Production, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement. This is a strategic yet hands-on role where you will lead and develop multifunctional teams, drive operational excellence, and deliver improvements across operations. You'll shape and execute the operations strategy, embedding a strong safety-first and continuous improvement culture while ensuring production capacity, resource planning, and supply chain performance are fully aligned with demand, providing high-quality products to our customers. Working closely with commercial and technical stakeholders, you'll play a key role in supporting the site's ongoing growth, strengthening customer delivery, and building a highly engaged and capable workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of daily operations including production, quality, supply chain, stores, facilities, and project execution.
  • Implement strategies to optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Support, coach, and develop the Operations team in all aspects of their roles to create and deploy a dynamic, high-performing, and efficient team.
  • Lead and optimise daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets (output, efficiency, cost).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures within the production processes.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and processes.
  • Efficiently allocate resources, including equipment and materials, to meet production goals and customer requirements.
  • Ensure all products are manufactured to required technical, safety, and customer specifications.
  • Promote a 'Safety First' culture by ensuring that the site meets appropriate HSE and ISO standards and is legally compliant.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of long-term operational strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Oversee and collaborate with the supply chain team to optimise supply chain delivery, ensuring timely procurement of materials and components.
  • Manage contractors and service providers effectively.
  • All other duties as required at Management Level.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • At least 5 years in a manufacturing leadership role.
  • Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience managing at least one of the following: production, quality, supply chain, and maintenance functions.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific standards (e.g., ISO, BBSA Accreditation).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
