The predicted salary is between 39634 - 48442 £ per year.

The post holder is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of inpatient waiting lists and theatre lists using multiple system applications, managing emails and phone calls in a timely manner. This requires the post holder to be the main point of contact for patients and staff at all levels. The post holder will be required to work independently as well as within the Waiting List team. Effective communication, organisation skills and good keyboard skills are essential for this post.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Using the ICE system daily to review ETCI requests to create accurate waiting list entries on the Trust PAS system.
  • Maintaining accurate and regularly validated computerised waiting lists.
  • Compiling and maintaining accurate and appropriate theatre lists in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that patients on the elective waiting list are offered admission dates considering clinical priority and length of wait.
  • Providing non-clinical advice and information regarding appointments, admissions and theatre arrangements to patients and relatives.
  • Managing telephone calls and voicemail messages in a timely manner.
  • Mentoring new staff and supporting department procedures.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Educated to GCSE Level including English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Experience: Working as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate professionally at all times.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Waiting List Management and confidentiality awareness.
  • Skills: Excellent organisational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritise, and good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
