Role Description

The Flight Instructor will provide professional flight instruction to students on fixed-wing and/or rotart aircraft, following approved training syllabi and regulatory standards.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting pre-flight briefings, in-flight training, and post-flight debriefings, as well as assessing student progress and maintaining accurate training records.

The instructor will promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with aviation regulations, and support students in preparing for practical and theoretical examinations.

This is a part-time, on-site role based at Bournemouth, requiring regular presence at the airfield for scheduled lessons and related instructional activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in aviation principles and practices, including Aviation and Piloting skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Commercial Piloting, with experience operating training aircraft in diverse conditions.
  • Sound understanding of Flight Safety, with the ability to model and enforce best practices in all training activities.
  • Instrument Rating experience and competency in instrument flight procedures, where applicable to training programs.
  • Valid Flight Instructor rating and relevant pilot license (e. g., PPL/CPL with instructor endorsement) in good standing.
  • Up-to-date medical certification and knowledge of current aviation regulations and training standards.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to instruct, coach, and give constructive feedback.
  • Strong situational awareness, decision-making ability, and commitment to student-centered learning.
  • Previous instructional experience in a flight school environment is highly beneficial.
