Blip is an online mental health service supporting children, young people, and young adults aged 7 to 25 across England and Wales.

The service bridges the gap between long NHS CAMHS waiting lists and timely, consistent care, offering video appointments with a named clinician rather than rotating staff.

Led by a Registered Mental Health Nurse with NHS CAMHS experience, blip is CAMHS-trained throughout and is progressing through CQC registration to ensure high clinical standards. blip works with families awaiting NHS support, young people stepping down from NHS services, and 18–25-year-olds who have aged out of CAMHS but do not fit easily into adult services.

The team is growing carefully, prioritising robust registration and sustainable expansion, with in-person appointments planned from 2027 in Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Wrexham, and Telford.

Role Description

This is a contracted, hybrid role.

The role involves providing direct mental health support to children, young people, and young adults through scheduled appointments, assessments, and ongoing care planning.

Responsibilities include collaborating with families and other professionals, maintaining accurate clinical records, and contributing to service development as Blip expands in-person provision.

The role also includes participation in team meetings, safeguarding processes, and continuous improvement of care pathways aligned with CAMHS practices.

The successful candidate will help ensure safe, compassionate, and consistent support for young people who are waiting for, stepping down from, or transitioning beyond NHS services.

Qualifications

  • Professional mental health qualification (e. g., \"Registered Mental Health Nurse, Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Social Worker, Art Therapist or similar\") with current registration or accreditation.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults, ideally within CAMHS or equivalent youth mental health services, including disordered eating, youth justice, drugs/alcohol and looked-after children.
  • Strong clinical assessment, risk management, and care planning skills, including safeguarding knowledge and familiarity with relevant frameworks.
  • Ability to build rapport with young people and families, demonstrating empathy, clear communication, and a non-judgmental approach.
  • Hybrid work requires good organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage a structured caseload.
  • Commitment to evidence-informed practice, ongoing professional development, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
  • An understanding of NHS pathways, CAMHS processes, and transitions between child and adult services is highly beneficial.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or eligibility to obtain one) and right to work in the UK.
