Reporting
Working closely with and reporting to the Head of Technology for Blink.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute engineering initiatives aligned with Blinks platform evolution and AI-driven roadmap.
- Drive the integration of large language models (LLMs) and AI into product experiences and platform intelligence.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, particularly in no-code, AI/ML, and developer platforms, to ensure Blink remains a market leader.
Team Management:
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team across backend, frontend, and AI/ML disciplines.
- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and engineering excellence.
- Support team growth through coaching, mentoring, and clear performance goals.
Product Development:
- Architect scalable, data-driven systems and infrastructure to support Blinks growing platform.
- Guide the evolution of our no-code architecture and improve the overall developer experience.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and GTM teams to ensure fast, high-quality product delivery.
- Champion modern engineering practices, agile methodologies, and code quality standards.
Infrastructure & Security:
- Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and observability through robust tooling and cloud-native practices.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure best practices with a focus on performance, monitoring, and security.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering outcomes with business needs.
- Represent engineering in strategic discussions, product planning, and technical deep dives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in technical leadership or management roles.
- Proven track record in AI/ML integration, scalable platform systems, and API development.
- Experience with no-code/low-code platforms or developer ecosystems.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and observability tools.
- Hands-on experience with languages and tools like Ruby, Java, React, GraphQL, AWS/GCP, and Kubernetes.
- Bonus: Experience with vector databases, LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, RAG), and open-source AI tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Agile Practices: Demonstrated success with agile product development, iterative delivery, and team velocity optimization.
- English fluency: Excellent command of English language, both written and spoken. This is necessary for clear, effective communication.
- Flexibility in Work Schedule: Willingness and ability to adjust work schedule as necessary to facilitate team collaboration, meet project deadlines, or address urgent issues.
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in a relevant technical or business field.
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com, or Asana.
- Familiarity with digital content production or event-tech ecosystems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
These preferred qualifications are not mandatory but would be beneficial for the role and may give candidates an advantage during the selection process.
