We’re not just closing the digital divide; we’re reconnecting distributed organisations, enabling seamless communication, and re‑engaging employees like never before. Blink, a mobile‑first employee experience platform, puts everything employees need right in their hands. With teams in Boston, London, and Sydney, we’re making waves worldwide, partnering with industry leaders like Domino’s, JD Sports and McDonald’s.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our Product & Engineering organisation, reporting to the VP of Product. You’ll be embedded in a cross‑functional squad alongside a Product Manager and dedicated engineers, and you’ll also be part of the broader product design discipline, collaborating with other Product Designers on shared systems, patterns, and craft standards. This isn’t a role where you’ll sit in a silo producing pixel‑perfect mockups and tossing them over the wall. You’ll help shape product direction from discovery through delivery — talking to real users, prototyping ideas at speed, and crafting experiences that work beautifully whether that’s on a factory floor, a hospital ward, or behind a restaurant counter. We’re all about the hybrid life — 3 fixed days in our Old Street office, with the perfect balance of in‑person collaboration and flexibility.

What You’ll Own

  • End-to-End Product Design: Own the design process from early concept exploration through to detailed specs.
  • User Research & Discovery: Get your hands dirty with research — running customer interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing to ground every design decision in real user needs.
  • Design System Stewardship: Be a guardian and contributor to Blink’s design system, ensuring consistency across mobile and web while evolving components to meet the needs of new product areas.
  • Squad Collaboration: Work as an embedded member of a development squad alongside engineers and product managers, participating in sprint ceremonies, design reviews, and daily decision‑making.
  • Cross-Platform Excellence: Design mobile-first experiences that work for frontline workers in challenging environments (low connectivity, shared devices, varied literacy levels) while also delivering polished desktop experiences for admins.
  • Data-Informed Decisions: Use qualitative and quantitative data to validate your designs and iterate — making sure your work is not just beautiful, but effective.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex products — B2B experience is a plus, but not a deal-breaker.
  • Mobile-first design expertise. You think natively in mobile patterns and understand the constraints and opportunities of designing for frontline, non-desk workers.
  • Research-driven mindset. You’re comfortable planning and running user research, synthesising findings, and advocating for users in product discussions.
  • Design tool proficiency. Expert in Figma (our primary tool) with strong prototyping skills. Sketch and Adobe XD experience also welcome.
  • Communication skills. You can articulate design rationale to engineers, PMs, and stakeholders. You present work confidently and take feedback constructively.
  • Squad-player mentality. You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced squad environment and see product development as a team sport.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) — enough to have productive conversations with engineers.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Experience working in a scaling startup environment where you’ve had to balance speed with quality.
  • Systems thinking — experience designing for complex workflows without losing sight of the end-user experience.

Why Blink

You will have the opportunity to be part of something impactful, large-scale, and meaningful. Most importantly, you’ll work for a company with a strong purpose, with an ambitious and supportive team embarking on a journey most start-ups can only dream of!

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Stock options on starting and additional high performer grants annually.
  • 25 days’ leave + public holidays.
  • Additional time off between Christmas and New Year.
  • Private healthcare with AXA.
  • 3% employer pension contribution when you contribute 5%.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Social events (lunches, breakfasts, nights out).
  • Enhanced parental leave.

At Blink, we’re committed to creating an inclusive and diverse culture where our people feel they truly belong.
