We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team. Reporting directly into our Head of Technology, the Engineering Manager will lead a team of 6 software engineers, take ownership of technical delivery and work hand in hand with the Product team to make ideas happen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and develop a high-performing engineering team
  • Define and drive technical direction alongside our Technical Architect and Lead Developer
  • Ensure Clear accountability, role clarity and a strong team culture
  • Own and manage the engineering delivery process, working closely with the Product team
  • Translate product priorities into actional technical plans with clear timelines.
  • Proactively identify risks and remove blockers to keep teams moving forward
  • Champion engineering best practices including clean code, secure design, CI/CD, and test automation
  • Oversee infrastructure resilience, observability, and incident response processes
  • Act as the bridge between Product and Engineering teams.
  • Provide transparency on engineering progress, challenges, and decisions to senior stakeholders.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Proven experience in an engineering leadership role
  • Experience with PHP and Laravel
  • Deep technical expertise — comfortable diving into architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision making
  • Solid understanding of modern backend and hands on DevOps experience
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives.
  • A clear and effective communicator, able to engage both technical and non technical audiences
