Supporter Care Assistant Home-based (UK) About us Were Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives after their sight has been affected. Founded in 1915, by Sir Arthur Pearson, to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have over a century of experience providing the best care to our veterans. Since then, weve provided support to tens of thousands of vision-impaired veterans, helping them to regain their independence. By providing our members with the tools and skills they need to lead a fulfilling and active life, we ensure they remain valued members of society. Were one transformational team that believes every vision-impaired veteran should be able to lead the life they choose. We are now looking for a Supporter Care Assistant to join us on a full-time, fixed-term basis for a nine month contract, working 35 hours per week. The Role As a Supporter Care Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for supporters, donors, beneficiaries, applicants, and members of the public. Specifically, youll handle enquiries and communications, providing excellent service and information, and inspiring others to support our work. Processing donations, you will maintain accurate data on our CRM, and record Gift Aid information in line with HMRC regulations. You will also handle complaints and donor cancellations, offering alternatives where appropriate to maintain their engagement with the charity. Additionally, you will – Handle payments – Process daily post – Ensure compliance with GDPR and PCI requirements – Maintain the security and confidentiality of donations and supporter data About You To be considered as a Supporter Care Assistant, you will need: – Proven experience handling customer queries and complaints – Experience using MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and CRM systems – An understanding of standard literacy and numeracy – Meticulous attention to detail in transaction recording and audit trails – Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and apply solution The closing date for this role is 8th February 2025.
