About Us

We are Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives regardless of how or when they lost their sight. Founded in 1915 by Sir Arthur Pearson to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have supported those blinded in subsequent wars and military engagements, including the Second World War, and more recently, the conflicts in the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan. We are one transformational team that believes every vision-impaired veteran should be able to lead the life they choose.

We are now looking for a Hospitality Team Member to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Role

As a Hospitality Team Member, you will support the smooth, safe and efficient running of our Rustington centre. You’ll be a positive presence across the centre, providing an excellent customer service experience to all members and guests, assisting with administration and bookings, responding to calls and ensuring all personal and accommodation requirements are met. Handling the administration of financial transactions, you’ll maintain accurate invoices and collect payments, ensuring unpaid accounts and queries are addressed. Additionally, you will:

  • Monitor member feedback
  • Ensure an efficient mail delivery and distribution system
  • Assist members with room and centre orientation

About You

To be considered as a Hospitality Team Member, you will need:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, database systems and intranet
  • Customer care skills
  • Excellent telephone manner and communications skills
  • At a minimum, GCSEs or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics (Grade 4 / C)
