About Us
Were Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives regardless of how or when they lost their sight. Founded in 1915 by Sir Arthur Pearson to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have supported those blinded in subsequent wars and military engagements, including the Second World War, and more recently, the conflicts in the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan.
We are now looking for an individual to join us in this Health Care Support role on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week for a 12 month, fixed-term contract.

The Role
In this Health Care Support role, you will deliver compassionate, person-centred care that enables members at our Rustington centre to live with dignity, independence, and fulfilment.
Working as part of our Health and Wellbeing Team, youll assist with daily personal care tasks, while promoting independence wherever possible, ensuring all care provided meets the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and respect.
Youll work collaboratively with Wellbeing Nurses, Senior Health Care Support staff, and wider teams to maintain accurate records and deliver tailored support that meets both physical and emotional needs.
Additionally, you will:
β Maintain care documentation, including risk assessments and handover notes
β Support members during meals, activities, and outings
β Report concerns or changes in wellbeing promptly to senior staff
β Promote safeguarding, dignity, and best practice across all areas of care
About You
To join us in this Health Care Support role, you will need:
β An NVQ in Health and Social Care Level 2 (or the willingness to work towards)
β Knowledge of Health and Safety in relation to delivering care
β IT knowledge, including electronic care systems, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams
β The ability to maintain accurate records and write reports
