The broad purpose of Dry Lining is to install, repair and maintain various elements of the internal structure of a building to a high standard. Dry liners build internal walls in residential and commercial structures. They use plasterboard panels to reduce cost and weight and also to make the walls easier to move or remove.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret drawings for precise work execution.
- Measure and mark interior systems projects following industry standards.
- Install metal furring ceilings and bulkheads.
- Erect plasterboard partitions.
- Install and repair metal stud partitions.
- Set up various wall linings, including metal dryliner channels, wall furrings, and timber battens.
- Install plywood pattresses.
- Construct framed and frameless beam and column structures.
- Create openings for windows and doors, including builders' work holes.
- Form junctions, abutments, and angles.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to facilitate handover, adhering to site procedures.
- Tape & Joint between plasterboards to achieve a consistent finish.
- Utilise different board types for differing installation settings, such as Fire, concrete and acoustic boards.
- Basic plastering.
- Collaborate with other trades and site management.
- Promote waste recycling for environmentally sustainable built environments.

Typical Working Week: 40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college.

Minimum Requirements: English and Maths at GCSE Grade 3 / D or above, or Functional Skills at Entry Level 3 or above. Must live in the borough of Westminster.
Desired Requirements: The passion and commitment to become fully qualified in Interior Systems. It would be advantageous if you have already completed technical certificates in construction or multi-skills, have previous related work experience and a CSCS, but this is certainly not essential.
Key Training/College Information: K10 will enrol you to the Level 2 Interior Systems Installer course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider. The apprenticeship duration is 24 months.
Eligibility To Start This Apprenticeship: You’ll Need To Be living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status, not enrolled on any other courses, and 18+ due to site H&S rules.
