We are expanding our software engineering team to meet the requirements of a demanding and exciting product roadmap.
At Blighter, we develop all the software required to use our range of radar products, from the radars onboard processing software to the external command and control.
To deliver the capabilities that our next generation radars require, we are undertaking a program of extensive software development.
This role takes a senior position in the development of our Blighter Nexus radar command & control software, with a focus on the design and architecture of complex data processing, distribution, and display systems.
You will gain a comprehensive understanding of both Blighter Nexus and the radar software it interfaces with, and steer the development of major new Nexus features.
The right candidate brings significant industry experience, and is looking to take ownership of significant product developments working with cutting-edge radar hardware.
Key responsibilities
Guide the design & development of major components of our radar command &
control software.
Design and develop software to aid integration with third party surveillance & security systems.
Design and develop software to improve and enhance our users experiences.
Lead by example in the improvement of software engineering techniques and processes.
Required Qualifications & skills?
Experience owning and leading project teams delivering significant software developments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 15+ years software development experience.
Excellent understanding and experience of object-oriented software design with C++.
Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
Creative & analytic problem-solving skills.
Effective at working directly with end customers & users.
You should have some of the following
Software based degree, or an engineering/science degree with software bias.
Experience in the development of security/defence command & control (C2) software.
Experience working with or knowledge of SQL databases.
Knowledge and experience of effective UI design & UX best practice.
Good understanding of real-time software design & development.
Experience with embedded Linux and embedded software development.
Mathematical and statistical analysis skills.
This role is hybrid with 3 days per week in the office.
