As the business is growing, we are looking for a Production Electronics Engineer to play a key role in the Production team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a range of production support activities for our complex products. This is a challenging role requiring a breadth of knowledge and experience rather than a narrow specialism.

The role will cover the following:

  • Support for radar proving and qualification testing.
  • High level support for radar fault finding to support test engineers.
  • Electronics design of RF and high-speed analogue and digital circuits.
  • Design and implementation of improvements to existing products.
  • Interfacing between Engineering and Production teams on design and test through product lifecycle.
  • Obsolescence management for existing products.
  • Design of test equipment, jigs associated test software and procedures.
  • Technical Production support for new designs.
  • Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation.
  • Using our PLM software to maintain product build standard, resolve issues, implement new designs.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to engineering and sales staff with materials/manufacturing.
  • Assist with improvements to our in-house production facilities and processes as needed.
  • Manage new process/products into suppliers when needed.

You will have:

  • A degree in electronics.
  • Design experience of RF and high-speed analogue circuits.
  • Design experience of production test equipment and automated test techniques.
  • Driving licence.

In addition, the following would be advantageous:

  • Experience of interfacing analogue to digital systems.
  • Experience of radar systems.
  • Knowledge of PLM systems.
  • Experience using Altium and Jira.
  • Security Clearance would be an advantage.

Blighter Surveillance Systems Limited is a UK-based electronic-scanning radar and sensor solution provider delivering an integrated multi-sensor package to systems integrators comprising the Blighter electronic-scanning radars, cameras, thermal imagers, trackers and software solutions. Blighter radars combine patented solid-state Passive Electronic Scanning Array (PESA) technology with advanced Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) and Doppler processing to provide a robust and persistent surveillance capability. Blighter Surveillance Systems (BSS) product manufacture is managed via outsourcing to our key manufacturing suppliers. Final system configuration, test and preparation for delivery are managed on site. We are located 10 miles south of Cambridge in the semi-rural village of Great Chesterford, with ample parking, a direct train link to Cambridge and easy access to the M11.
