Overview
We are looking to hire an experienced Private Client Manager to work from our offices in Cyprus.
As a leading wealth management company specialising in cross-border financial advice and planning, Blevins Franks continues to expand its services across Europe and the UK.
Key responsibilities
- Operate as a retail investment adviser in accordance with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules and guidance, and any other regulatory body deemed appropriate by BFWML.
- Recommend strategies for clients to achieve their financial goals and objectives, including cash flow management, investment planning, estate management, tax and wills.
- Explain and document the services to be provided and the services for which clients are authorised.
- Carry out regular, thorough reviews with existing clients to ensure tailored solutions remain appropriate as times and circumstances change.
- Establish and record clients’ current income, expenses, insurance coverage, tax status, financial objectives, risk tolerance and other information required to develop a financial plan.
- Guide clients in gathering information relevant to financial planning (e.g., bank records, income tax returns, life and disability insurance records, pension plan information, wills).
- Analyse client information and investigate available investment opportunities to determine conformity with the client’s financial plans.
- Determine strategies for meeting clients’ financial objectives and recommend plans best suited to individual requirements.
- Implement financial planning recommendations and prepare/interpret for clients information such as investment performance reports, financial document summaries and income projections.
- Answer clients’ questions about the purposes and details of financial plans and strategies; contact clients periodically to determine if there have been changes in their financial status; review accounts and plans regularly for life changes, economic changes or financial performance that may require reassessment.
- Build and maintain client databases and keep client plans up to date; conduct seminars and workshops on financial planning topics.
- Maintain and extend professional standards by keeping up to date with financial products and legislation; inform clients of new products or changes to legislation that may affect their savings and investments.
- Establish and develop a network of referrals to support ongoing client acquisition; balance referral activities with follow-up, prospecting and administrative tasks.
Qualifications and requirements
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the financial services industry, primarily within the investment advice and wealth management sector.
- A Level 4 Diploma or international equivalent is a prerequisite to be considered for the role; a good understanding of UK financial regulations and holistic financial planning.
- At least Level 4 (Diploma) qualified or international equivalent; experience to operate in line with regulatory standards.
- Understanding of UK regulatory requirements in relation to financial planning and the risks associated with financial planning; knowledge of the tax regime for wealth and estate planning.
- Experience with dealing with clients with investable assets in the range described by the employer (e.g., £1m–£5m).
