About the School
We are an 11-18 Catholic College with 1,640 students on roll, including 264 in the Sixth Form. GCSE and A level results have been consistently excellent over several years and we are determined to make ourselves an exceptional educational provider. Our college is highly popular with parents/carers, and we are oversubscribed every year.
Department Context
Join our warm, research-informed Science Department, where curiosity, collaboration, and continual professional growth are at the heart of our work. Science is a popular and thriving subject in our school. Our students speak highly of their science lessons, valuing both the challenge and the curiosity they inspire. Each year, a large number of students choose to study Triple Science at GCSE, with many progressing onto Science A Levels, reflecting the strength of our teaching and the enthusiasm it generates.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Second in Science to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 as well as supporting the Head of Science in leading, managing and developing the department. You'll join a team of committed subject specialists who share a love of science and a reflective, evidence-informed approach to teaching. Lead, manage and develop the department in line with school priorities and CPD.

Our department is deeply rooted in cognitive science, using insights from how students learn best to shape our curriculum and classroom practice. We are proud of our strong CPD culture, which focuses on both subject knowledge enhancement and subject-specific pedagogy.
