Role Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to inspire our children. The purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality Music teaching across Reception to Year 6, inspiring a love of music in all pupils and supporting a vibrant and inclusive Music Department. The role includes classroom teaching, leading ensembles, contributing to performances, and supporting the wider musical life of the school.
What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Music lessons across Reception to Year 6, covering a broad and creative curriculum
- Plan and assess effectively to support and challenge pupils of all abilities
- Lead and support ensembles including orchestra and choir, preparing pupils for performances and events
- Accompany rehearsals, concerts and weekly singing assemblies where required
- Work collaboratively with Performing Arts colleagues to deliver a cohesive music programme
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through concerts, productions and events
- Promote an inclusive approach to music, ensuring all pupils can participate and thrive
- Maintain clear communication with parents and colleagues regarding pupil progress
- Participate fully in staff meetings, school activities and ongoing professional development
What you'll bring
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject; musical qualifications desirable
- Proven experience teaching Music across the primary age range and leading choirs or instrumental ensembles
- Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and safeguarding practices
- Excellent classroom practice with strong organisational and communication skills
- High level of piano/keyboard proficiency, including accompanying
- Ability to lead rehearsals and inspire pupils through creative, engaging teaching
- Passionate about music education and committed to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
- A collaborative team player who can motivate and inspire young musicians
