Cumnor House School is seeking an experienced and highly organised Bursar to provide strategic and operational leadership across the school’s non‑teaching functions. Working closely with the Head Teacher and senior leaders, the Bursar will lead the school’s financial, administrative, and operational services, ensuring robust systems, financial sustainability, and full regulatory compliance. This is a key leadership role supporting the effective day‑to‑day running and long‑term development of the school.
About the role:
- Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, invoicing, fee management, and reporting
- Oversee compliance across finance, health & safety, estates, and operational policies
- Line‑manage administration, facilities, admissions/marketing, and IT functions
- Manage estates, buildings maintenance, contractors, and health & safety requirements
- Support admissions processes and marketing activity in partnership with senior leaders
- Oversee HR administration, recruitment support, onboarding, and payroll data
- Represent operations at leadership meetings and contribute to whole‑school planning
About you:
- Have strong financial and operational leadership experience
- Be highly organised, commercially aware, and confident managing complex priorities
- Demonstrate excellent communication and people‑management skills
- Be IT‑competent, with strong Excel and systems experience
- Have a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams
