We're scaling fast across London, Mumbai, and Austin and we're now looking for an Engineering Lead to join our Core Engineering Team to support the growth of the business through all things technical leadership, engineering excellence, and scalable systems delivery.
The Role
As an Engineering Lead at Fospha, you'll bring hands-on technical leadership to a cross-functional team working across full-stack data and infrastructure domains. You'll guide engineers through complex technical challenges, mentor them to grow, and collaborate closely with Product and Delivery Managers to deliver high-quality systems that scale with confidence and speed. Key Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional team through complex technical challenges and product delivery.
- Be hands-on writing, reviewing, and guiding code across backend, frontend, and data stacks.
- Work closely with PMs and DMs to plan, execute, and deliver releases end-to-end.
- Mentor engineers, setting standards for quality, testing, and performance.
- Identify and remove technical debt and bottlenecks proactively.
- Foster a culture of ownership, learning, and collaboration.
What are we looking for
We hire for potential; you should apply if you:
- Have proven experience leading technical direction across full-stack systems.
- Exposure to production data and machine learning environments is a strong plus.
- Demonstrate expert proficiency in at least two of the following core technologies: Python, React, and SQL.
- Experience with dbt, data warehousing, or modern orchestration tools is a strong plus.
- Possess a deep understanding of modern software design patterns, scalable system architecture, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Have a strong track record of operational ownership, including the reliable, observable, and cost-efficient operation of systems at scale.
- Communicate complex technical trade-offs clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, driving alignment across teams.
