Role Description

This full-time, on-site role is based primarily from our Salisbury depot, but fluidity with our Basingstoke depot is required. We are open to discuss hybrid/remote working with the right candidate. This is a results-based role and you will be happy chasing targets and achieving them. The Commercial Scaffold Estimator/Bid Manager will be responsible for estimating scaffold-related costs and preparing competitive project bids. Daily tasks include assessing project requirements, evaluating materials and labour costs, creating detailed proposals, and managing client relationships. Additionally, the role involves close collaboration with project teams to ensure project plans align with estimates and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed scaffold estimates from drawings, specifications, and site visits
  • Interpret client requirements and produce compliant, competitive tenders
  • Manage the full bid process from enquiry through to submission
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams
  • Conduct site surveys where required
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Support handover of successful bids to operations teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience in scaffolding estimation or bid management
  • Strong understanding of scaffolding systems and industry standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Desirable

  • Experience working on mid-large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. TG20, SG4)
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the scaffolding or construction industry
