To support our intensive growth, we are expanding our engineering department, and seek to hire a passionate and experienced Warehouse Solution & Design Engineer.
Tasks and responsibilities: At Bleckmann, engineering excellence and innovation are at the core of our ability to deliver world-class & cost-optimized logistics solutions. As a Warehouse Solution & Design Engineer, you have a leading role in designing and implementing warehouse solutions for our customers. You will be responsible for developing efficient warehouse layouts, optimizing material flows, and integrating automation to enhance operational performance. In this role, it is crucial to support our operational teams in optimizing existing processes and ensuring smooth implementation of new solutions. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including project managers, IT specialists, and operations teams, to deliver customized, high-performing warehouse solutions. You will be part of a multifunctional project team and will be exposed to many aspects of our global warehouse operations. Your expertise in warehouse design and process improvement will directly contribute to increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring scalability in our logistics operations. Through these responsibilities, the role ensures that Bleckmann continues to lead in logistics automation, delivering cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions that drive operational excellence.
Profile:
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in warehouse operations, layout design, and process optimization. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and warehouse simulation tools. Knowledge of automation systems, material handling equipment, and warehouse management systems (WMS). Data analysis skills to support design decisions and process improvements. Knowledge and application of Methods-Time Measurement (MTM) for process optimization and efficiency analysis.
- Experience & Education: 5–7 years in warehouse design, supply chain engineering, or a related field. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Personal Qualities & Soft Skills: Ability to actively listen to customer needs and effectively translate them into practical, high-impact warehouse solutions. Ability to coordinate and align multiple stakeholders to ensure successful warehouse solutions. Capable of developing data-driven warehouse strategies and optimizing logistics flows. Practical and hands-on approach to overcoming warehouse design and implementation challenges. Strong ability to present warehouse concepts, layouts, and optimizations effectively to internal teams and customers. Ability to work across international warehouse sites, ensuring cultural awareness and operational alignment.
- Communication skills: Fluent in English (written & verbal); Dutch is a plus. Strong presentation skills to confidently communicate solution designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Additional Requirements: A high interest in staying abreast of the latest technologies and innovations in the field of warehousing. Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier engagements, site visits, and customer meetings.
