This is a permanent, full-time position working 4on 4off, covering the hours of 06:00 - 18:00 and 18:00 - 06:00, rotating each week with flexibility required during peak periods. The role offers £15.28 per hour, depending on skills and experience, plus an additional shift allowance of £3,900 annually.

Main Purpose of the Role: The successful candidate will undertake a range of warehouse duties, as trained, supporting the efficient flow of stock through the distribution centre from receipt through to dispatch. In addition, the role will be responsible for carrying out MHE duties, supporting safe working practices, and ensuring compliance with site health and safety standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Operations: Carry out warehouse duties in line with operational requirements and training received. Support the movement of stock through the distribution centre from goods receipt to dispatch. Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • MHE Duties: Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently in line with site procedures. Complete all required MHE activities in accordance with company policies and safe systems of work. Conduct pre-use checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly. Support the safe movement, storage, replenishment, and dispatch of stock. Follow established risk assessments and safe working practices when operating MHE. Maintain a safe working environment by identifying hazards and reporting potential risks. Ensure all tasks are completed in line with health and safety regulations. Assist with investigations relating to MHE incidents or near misses when required. Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the site. Maintain required competency levels and participate in refresher training as required.

Profile:

  • Valid MHE licence (RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and distribution centre processes.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety practices within a warehouse environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and changing workloads.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to take personal responsibility and ownership of tasks.
  • Proactive approach to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
