This is a permanent, full-time, daytime role working Monday to Friday and offers a salary up to £35,000.00 per annum. It follows a hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days working from home each week.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation, reconciliation, and administration of transport-related invoices.
  • Prepare and generate transport-related invoices in line with customer contracts, tariffs, and service agreements.
  • Verify invoice accuracy, completeness, and compliance against financial and operational data.
  • Reconcile invoice information against transport logs, job sheets, and booking systems.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Act as the first point of contact for invoice-related queries from customers and transport providers.
  • Maintain accurate records and support internal audits and compliance activities.
  • Monitor invoicing deadlines to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Identify recurring issues and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Build effective working relationships across Finance, Operations, and Transport functions.
  • Provide administrative support and assist with ad-hoc finance tasks as required.

Profile

  • Previous experience within invoicing, finance administration, transport administration, or logistics administration.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work confidently with financial and operational data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to investigating discrepancies.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with finance systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using Tableau or similar reporting and data analysis tools would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of transport operations, service contracts, or logistics environments is desirable.
  • Proactive and reliable, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • A team player with a continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to support wider business objectives.
