This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position, working Monday to Friday, with flexibility required during peak periods. The role offers a salary of £52,000–£54,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus a car allowance.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the effective delivery and continuous improvement of Health & Safety across UK operations by providing guidance, training, and ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
- Support the UK H&S Manager and wider business in delivering H&S strategy and requirements.
- Develop and engage the UK H&S team to ensure effective execution of responsibilities.
- Maintain understanding of H&S requirements across operations, including legal and contractual expectations.
- Deliver and develop H&S training to ensure teams understand and fulfil their responsibilities.
- Support delivery of H&S communication plans to drive awareness and ownership across all staff.
- Collaborate with solutions design, procurement, and site leadership to embed safety-by-design principles.
- Support site leaders during inspections, audits, and external visits.
- Assist with incident investigations and ensure learnings are shared across the UK and globally.
- Identify key processes impacting H&S performance and work with stakeholders to improve them.
- Conduct regular site visits to engage frontline teams and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Coach and support site leaders and cluster directors to drive H&S improvements.
Profile:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role, with responsibility for Health & Safety management.
- Exposure to logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or similar environments (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of H&S processes, compliance, and best practices.
- Ability to coach, influence, and support stakeholders at all levels.
- Skilled in delivering training and driving behavioural change.
- Strong communication and engagement skills.
- Basic project management capability (desirable).
- Knowledge of COMAH regulations (desirable).
- IT literate.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
