Burnley Leisure & Culture is an award winning not-for-profit charity that generates over Β£7m of income through its charitable activity and commercial hospitality activities. Our hospitality teams operate across seven venues in Burnley and we are looking for a talented chef to join our ever expanding team.
Job Summary
.As a Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, preparing and serving a varied bistro menu to a consistently high standard.
You will work Wednesday to Sunday, predominantly daytime hours, offering an excellent work-life balance with no requirement for regular late-night shifts. This role will be situated at 197 Bistro at Towneley golf club Burnley.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking
- Create innovative menus and recipes whilst maintaining high standards
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and budget management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and procedures
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a restaurant or similar culinary environment
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team
- In-depth knowledge of culinary arts, food production, and techniques
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent organisational skills to coordinate kitchen activities efficiently
