Contribute to climate justice and global citizenship through our main programme, the city‑twinning initiative Bristol Link with Beira. We facilitate development projects in Beira, Mozambique and global awareness initiatives in Bristol, UK.
What difference will you make?
Trustees develop networks in Bristol, through fundraising, marketing initiatives, local events, and educational establishments, motivated by Bristol City Council’s Twinning Officer. This enables our activities in Beira, Mozambique focusing on Health & Education, Communities & Civil Society, Climate Change & Energy; Culture & Sport. We target SDG 11 and SDG 17.
What are we looking for?
Ideally a new Trustee will have experience of living or working in Southern Africa, or have a good understanding of the issues through their academic and/or professional career. However, this is not essential. A Trustee should be prepared to contribute the technical skills they have acquired professionally. A Trustee should have at least 3 years experience in business, teaching, and/or consultancy. A Trustee can progress to the positions of Secretary, Treasurer or Chair.
What will you be doing?
A new Trustee will complement our existing Board which currently comprises a finance consultant, a Local Authority administrator, a marine environment consultant and an architect/urban planner. We have two working groups consisting of Trustees and Volunteers. One focuses on projects in Beira, and the other on Bristol. We are looking for new computer‑literate Trustees with at least 3 years working professional experience based in, or near Bristol.
