We are looking for an Environment Artist to join Blazing Griffin to work on an exciting original IP. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented, friendly and highly creative team.

Within this role you will:

  • Take direction from the Art Director to deliver high quality environments using Zbrush, Painter, Designer and other industry standard 3D software, assembling them in Unity.
  • Create level blockouts working with the Design team, taking them through all production stages to final quality art.
  • Work alongside the art team, mentoring more junior artists helping them develop their craft.
  • Feedback into the creative process bringing your own insight and ideas.
  • Collaborate with concept artists and make suggestions where designs can be amended before starting production.
  • Take an active role in documenting workflows that are developed for the project.
  • Assist in the planning of work with the Art Director and Producer.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5 years minimum game development experience with several shipped titles.
  • A solid knowledge of environment art production pipelines.
  • Understanding of how to build performant environments and taking ownership of keeping them in budget.
  • Comfortable working in a range of styles, particularly more stylized work.
  • Excellent understanding of silhouette, colour, detail and how to balance it.
  • Familiarity of working with adjacent disciplines such as tech art, concept art, animation and game design.
  • Understanding of modular asset creation and reusable content workflows.
  • Up to date with modern processes in game art pipelines.
  • Experience working with game engines – Unity a plus.
