Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned multistorey structural steel projects.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, including China-based suppliers, on technical requirements, material delivery schedules, project updates and follow-up matters.
  • Provide Mandarin–English communication and translation support for technical discussions, project documents and supplier coordination.
  • Review clients' technical documentation, drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Maintain project technical files, records and documentation.
  • Develop Method Statements for structural steel erection and project execution.
  • Prepare MTO, BOQ, Scope of Work and technical specifications for steel structure sub‑building projects.
  • Prepare technical documentation for steel structure material requisition and assist the procurement department in technical evaluations.
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, and coordinating with management.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and other project‑related reports.
  • Support construction planning as assigned and coordinate works with the project team, clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Carry out in‑progress inspections to ensure works are executed according to required quality standards.
  • Monitor and report on the compliance of delivered materials with project specifications, codes of practice, ITP and QA/QC procedures.
  • Assist in managing and executing projects in a cost‑effective manner, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards that meet client expectations.
  • Attend project meetings, handle project correspondence and assist in resolving design, supplier and site‑related issues during the construction period.
  • Raise technical queries such as RFI/RFC when required.
  • Coordinate with the Planning Engineer on delivery items and project schedules.
  • Assist in handling and resolving site issues throughout the project period.
  • Undertake any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high‑rise structural steel construction (e.g., buildings above 30 storeys, long‑span trusses, heavy steel works).
  • Good knowledge of steelwork construction standard operating procedures, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and capable of producing clear and accurate AutoCAD drawings.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Tekla Viewer.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required for this role, as the position involves technical communication, document clarification and coordination with suppliers based in China, as well as translation support for the internal project engineering team.
  • Good coordination, communication, documentation and problem‑solving skills.
  • Relevant experience in structural steel, construction, project coordination or engineering support will be an advantage.
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings, technical documents, specifications and project requirements.
  • Knowledge of MTO, BOQ, Method Statements, RFI/RFC, QA/QC documents and project coordination processes will be an advantage.

Other Information

  • This position is mainly office‑based.
  • Site visits are occasional and will usually be conducted together with the Manager.
  • Candidates will be assessed based on relevant qualifications, experience, technical knowledge, communication skills and job fit.
