The company is a leading refurbishment contractor and is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its dynamic team in Verwood. Specialising in high-quality refurbishment projects across the residential, healthcare, education, and commercial sectors, they offer a unique opportunity to be part of a company that prides itself on delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately estimate the cost of refurbishment projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
- Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure comprehensive understanding of project scope.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather quotations and negotiate prices.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and ensure that estimates are within budgetary constraints.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of tenders and proposals.
- Provide support to the project management team throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and materials to ensure the best value is achieved for each project.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the refurbishment industry (residential, healthcare, education, or commercial sectors).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, costs, and materials.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- A relevant qualification in construction, surveying, or a related field would be advantageous.
