A respected Groundworks contractor based near Eastleigh is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business. The company has been operating for over 30 years and undertakes a variety of groundwork projects across the South that include speculative private housing, housing association and construction projects. The company is entering a busy period and will consider either a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor who has groundworks experience.
The Role
- Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the control of multiple groundwork projects valued up to £3m.
- Managing the commercial elements of each package including bulk earthworks, deep drainage, enabling works, hard landscaping, foundations, infrastructure works, highways, Section 278 and 38 works, service installations, road construction and surfacing.
- Measurement and valuation of various Civil Engineering and Groundworks packages.
- Preparation of monthly applications for payments for allocated projects.
- Identification and pricing of variations to Clients.
- Negotiation and agreement of variations.
- Preparation of Sub-contract tender enquiry documents.
- Review of submitted tenders.
- Payment of sub-contract accounts.
- Conducting monthly meetings with Commercial Director and Commercial Manager.
The Candidates
- Thorough working knowledge of Groundworks sector.
- Previous experience in managing multiple projects in a similar role.
- A good understanding of construction methodologies within the Groundworks sector.
- IT proficient with Microsoft Packages, including Microsoft Excel.
- Valid driving licence to enable travel to live sites across the South.
