Blaymires Recruitment is representing a well-established and growing construction company based near Poole. Due to continued success, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their friendly and professional team. The company has projects located in both Dorset and Hampshire currently with more than 80 residential units in Weymouth, 35 in Warsash and 15 in Southbourne.
This is a key role, offering the opportunity to take full commercial ownership of projects and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, financially efficient construction schemes.
The RoleYou will manage project costs from inception through to final account, working closely with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure budgets are controlled, risks are managed, and contractual obligations are met.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, and estimates throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitoring expenditure, producing cost reports, and managing cash flow
- Leading procurement activities, including tendering, bid evaluation, and subcontractor negotiations
- Valuing works, managing variations, and agreeing final accounts
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders to provide clear commercial updates
- Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures
- Minimum 8 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- RICS qualified, ideally MRICS
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and relevant cost management software (e.g. CostX or similar)
- Strong salary of £60k - £85k DOE, plus bonus
