With decades of experience and a strong reputation for innovation, quality and sustainability, the company is continuing to grow and is now seeking an experienced and driven Lead Designer to join the business. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of modern modular building projects from concept through to manufacture and construction.
The Role
- As Lead Designer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design function across multiple projects, ensuring high standards of technical delivery, coordination and innovation throughout the design process.
- Working closely with internal departments, consultants and clients, you will lead design development activities while supporting the company’s commitment to efficient, sustainable and commercially successful modular solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage design development from concept through to manufacture and construction.
- Coordinate closely with Architects, Engineers, Project Managers and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all designs meet client requirements, building regulations and industry standards.
- Promote innovation, sustainability and modern methods of construction throughout all projects.
- Review technical drawings, specifications and BIM models for quality and accuracy.
- Manage design programmes and support project delivery to agreed timescales and budgets.
- Implement and maintain robust design management and quality control procedures.
- Mentor and support junior designers and technical team members.
- Stay informed on industry developments, legislation and emerging technologies.
About You
- Degree qualified in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a senior design role within construction, modular or offsite manufacturing.
- Strong technical knowledge of building regulations, construction detailing and MMC/offsite methodologies.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM software.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Passion for innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
